General
Our main intention is to create a vocational education of high quality, with a high degree of competence. All our educational programmes are focused on the needs and demands of both small companies and large corporations.

The courses have been created to both attract creative students while at the same time retaining a high standard of quality. All our education programmes result in a QVE diploma.

AcadeMedia Masters is a member of the AcadeMedia Group, which is one of the largest Swedish conglomerates operating within the fields of economic strategies, information and media technology, network security and network infrastructure. The business areas of the AcadeMedia Group are education, consulting, e-learning, business training and simulations.

The curriculums of the courses are adapted to ensure a high degree of competence, therefore there is a close co-operation with the industry which begins already during the process of creating the courses. This way the courses correspond to real needs in the employment market.

Since the workplace training element of Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY) is so important, active participation by employers in designing the courses is a requirement. Working life representatives are therefore also required to be in the majority in the management group for a course.

The most important part of this education adapted for the industry is the work-place training, which amounts to one-third of the total period of education. This work-place training along with external projects results in maintaining a high quality, and enables the students to build networks within the industry.

Education
AcadeMedia Masters is a Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY), which is financed and controlled by the Swedish Agency för Advanced Vocational Education operating under the Swedish Parliament's Department of Education.

The form of education
The employment market today demands highly skilled labour. In order to be attractive on the labour market, a person must have not only traditional knowledge but also wide-ranging proficiency. This includes flexibility, social skills, a capacity to see both the overall picture and processes, and an ability to solve production problems in an enterprise.

To meet these demands, the Swedish Government has decided to carry out a pilot project involving Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY). The education is post-secondary and students are recruited nation-wide. Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY) is best described as a vocational college, which shall be a complement to traditional colleges and universities. That means that Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY) is not intended to prepare for further college studies, but to offer a parallel way of obtaining education. The aim of Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY) is to supply the competence needed by the labour market, when it comes to organised production of goods and services. The courses should combine a practical orientation with in-depth theoretical knowledge, which is why work-place learning is emphasised in Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY). Since work-place training is such an important part of the Advanced Vocational Education and Training, AVET (KY), the active participation of employers in designing the courses is a requisite. Therefore working life representatives are required to form a majority in the management group of AcadeMedia Masters.
